The members of TCRC are deeply shocked and saddened to announce the sudden and untimely demise of Dr. Binoy Kumar Sahay, Dy. Curator and Incharge, Central Asian Antiquities, National Museum, Delhi on 8th May, 2021. In addition, amongst several other projects, he spearheaded the Museum’s Digitisation Project and Conservation Laboratory at the National Museum. Currently he was engaged in setting up the new Central Asian Gallery showcasing prized Buddhist Wall paintings from the Central Asia excavated by British Archaeologist Sir. Marc Aurel Stein in early twentieth century. The Gallery was all set to be inaugurated recently.
As one of the founder members of Textiles and Clothing Research Center (TCRC), his quiet, gentle and polite demeanor endeared him to all those who came in contact with him. We, at TCRC deeply mourn his passing away and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends.
